Anthology submissions

Off The Chest Anthology: Spaces of Significance

In collaboration with Jake Wild Hall of Bad Betty Press and Aaron Kent of Broken Sleep Books

Off The Chest’s first ever anthology is now open for submissions! We will be receiving submissions sent to us via email until 11:30pm on Tuesday 16th January 2024.

Before you submit your poems for consideration, please read the following submission guidelines carefully.

Submission guidelines

  1. Theme: The theme of this anthology is ‘spaces of significance’. We are looking for poems that explore spaces and places that mean something to you or someone else. That could be positive or negative, something big or small, real or imaginary. We encourage you to interpret this theme in whatever way you would like.

  2. Format: Submissions should include no more than 1-3 poems, all in one file. Please submit either in Microsoft Word format or PDF format. Each poem must not be more than 2 pages long. Please keep your font size to size 10. Please include a short bio (max 50 words) with your poems which mentions the city, town or region you are based in.

  3. Simultaneous submissions: If the poems you want to submit have been submitted elsewhere, please let us know.

  4. Previously published poems: Please do not send us poems that have been previously published elsewhere.

  5. Payment: If any of your poems are included in our final selection, you will receive a payment of £20.00 and a free copy of the anthology. Included poets will also be asked to perform their work either at an in-person event or an online launch in 2024.

  6. Location: For this anthology, we are only considering submissions from poets based in the United Kingdom.

How to submit your poems

Submissions are now closed. Please do not send us any more poems as we will not be considering them.
